Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman holds a distinguished chair in psychology at the University of California Davis and is the director of its Center for Public Policy Research. She is widely known as the pioneer of modern-day scientific research of the memory of children as eyewitnesses and the use of child victims in court contexts. Professor Goodman has published numerous papers as well as received numerous grants. She has also has been awarded several international and national prizes. She has advised many authorities and government agencies around all over the world on policy and research relating to the treatment of children victims by the legal system. She is also a consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center. (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center), of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a Fellow of both the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association, (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for Children and Families Policy and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56). Professor Goodman is also a member of the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (Founding member) International Society for the prevention of child abuse and Neglect and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman was the President of the American Psychological Association Divisions for Child and Family Policy and Practice Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
